Case File 1-
Sitting in the LRC computer lab at 12:35 pm.
We got a mysterious call from Laurie Schmeling, "Stevie is gone!!!", in a panicked voice. We asked if she had any clues or details of Stevie's whereabouts and she provided us with a note the kidnapper left her to find Stevie.
First floor, Reference Room, LRC-
Being good detectives and studying the clues closely and thoroughly, we started out on the first floor of the LRC. It stated that the first clue would be in the Encyclopedia of the Dog. Walking through all the dark and treacherous shelves of books, we finally came across the book we were looking for. Flipping through the pages, the clue told us to find the English Pointer, when we got to the page we found the letter "E".
Looking up we spotted a large great white shark hanging from the ceiling. We inspected the shark and found the letter "H".
Second floor, Periodicals, LRC-
Searching through towers and towers of large orange shelves we came across a section of periodicals and found the letter "C'.
Third floor, CD collection, LRC-
During this we got a little lost. We couldn't find the CD collection because we were looking in the wrong place. Like good detectives, we traced are steps back to the beginning of the third floor. Looking around we found a small section of CD's and found the letter "V".
Fourth floor, LRC-
We were very confused with this clue. The call number were given, we had a hard time finding. We got directed to the Charlie Chaplin book collection. At first, we thought Charlie was the kidnapper but then we came across the letter "A" and a picture of a cat, a sketch of the suspect.
Fifth floor, Zoology section, LRC-
We were told to take the elevator to the fifth floor, walk past the dark creepy archives, then the computer stations and we would come across the shelves. Walking through a jungle of green shelves, we finally found the Zoology section and while there we found a hostage. Oscar the Otter was sitting there next to the letter "R".
Sixth floor, U.S. Government publications, LRC-
We were told the kidnapper was up on the sixth floor checking out the view. We ran up there with hopes of catching or seeing the kidnapper, but instead were left confused and lost. Once again we were left with call numbers and we also had a hard time piecing them together. We finally found the last two letters "S and I".
Back in our headquarters-
Now we were left with 8 scrambled letters. Putting our heads together we pieced the word "Archives" together. We raced back to the fifth floor in hopes to find Stevie, hopefully alive and safe. We opened the large door of the archives, snuck past the security, and spotted Stevie. We returned him to Laurie safe and sound.
CASE COMPLETE.
Until next time...
